The Dickson County High School chapter of the National Forensic League will be hosting its invitational tournament at Dickson County High School on Saturday, November 22, 2008. We cordially invite the participation of your school in this event.

Competition will be offered in the following events: dramatic interp., humorous interp., extemporaneous speaking, original oratory, prose, poetry, duet acting, duo interp., improvisational duet acting, storytelling, impromptu speaking, Congress, Public Forum Debate, and L/D debate. Doubling will be allowed in all events except debate. (Debaters may double enter in Congress only.) Each school may send 6 entries in all events. Storytelling finals will be held in the auditorium (as part of a worldwide storytelling event) with cash prizes to winners.

Entries must be received no later than Monday, November 17. The entry fee will be $7.00 per person for debate. For other events, the fee will be $6.00 per person per event. A $6.00 nuisance fee will be charged for entries dropped after 5:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 19. We ask that each school furnish one judge for every 6 event entries, or major portion thereof. For every 2 L/D or portion thereof, you must supply an L/D judge apart from individual event judges. If your school is unable to fulfill its judging requirements, a judging fee of $25.00 for each missing judge will be charged.

All students must have adult supervision from their schools at the tournament. Concessions will be available for students. Breakfast and lunch will be provided for adults. DCHS is known for feeding judges well!
